     Note: While this manual may seem outdated to the experienced, for beginners it is still
worth reading, because it will teach you some important basics. 

    This manual has been formulated in a manner so as to make it easier for all students to comprehend. In this manual the student will be taught the basics of working a computer. Including basic computer navigation, recognition of icons and the interface. Learn the distinctive characteristics of programs and how create, save and organize files.

     We will start at this point with the basic components of a computer and their proper names. A computer is composed of a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and the main system case sometimes referred to as the hard drive even thought the hard drive is an internal component of the main case. There different variations given to the main case but we will not discuss them in length at this point due to the fact that they have no real purpose in learning to use a computer. Now we will describe the basic use for the hardware.

Monitor: The monitor is the television like apparatus attached to your computer. The monitor is used to display the graphical controls of your computer and all the programs which you will use. Most monitors have most of the basic controls of a television. You can usually adjust the contrast, brightness, horizontal and vertical view.

Keyboard: The keyboard is the basically flat rectangular control panels attached to you're computer. Most keyboards are composed of 101 keys or more. The keyboard is used to input information on to your computer such as in the manner of typing a report or something similar. The keyboard is also use to input commands to your computer's programs.

Mouse: The mouse is the oddly shaped device attached to your computer which usually has one or two buttons. But allot of the mice today can have three or more buttons. The mouse is used to control the graphical aspects of your computer programs as well as to input commands to your programs or select your choices.

Main Case: The main case is where the actual computer is located. It is where all of the actual hardware is located. That is why you attach all of your other computer components to it. At the main case the floppy drive is located this device is used to input or save files or programs on a floppy disk which you would like to have available for use on other computers. But can also be used to backup information that you would like to keep safe or private.
